Birds

*MVP is the only pet store in Kentucky that tests birds for Psittacosis and PBFD and vaccinates against Polyoma.*

We have many birds for sale and everything you will need to provide a safe, happy, and healthy environment for them. Our large birds and cockatiels are all hand-fed as babies to promote a feeling of comfort with humans at an early age.

FACTS:

-Seed contains a lot of fat and no calcium, vitamins, or minerals which can cause osteoporosis and brittle bones.  It also cuts a birds life expectancy in half.

-Birds pick out and only eat the seeds they like which will cost you a lot more money in the long run than if you were to feed an all pellet diet, such as Harrison’s Pellets.  Harrison’s is only available at exotic animal vet clinics and MVP.

-Only birds such as canaries, finches, and some parakeets should be fed seed.

-Avocados, grapes, chocolate, sunflower seeds, alcohol, cigarette and other types of smoke, burning Teflon, kerosene, and propane heaters are all toxic to birds.

-Two birds should never be in the same cage.  They will get attached to each other instead of you and may become hard to handle.  They might also fight until the death of one.
